I recently browsed the wed and discovered two things:
#1 - if you want to have a pair of custom masters you have to pay about an average of 200$
#2 - its definitely something you can do yourself for about 20$
So on a slow rainy day, i took a chance. I purchased the following items from my local hard ware store: sandpaper (320 grit), spray can primer, and metal adhesive spray paint such as engine enamel or stainless steel paint. There are many different products but i recommend that you read the label and choose wisely. i chose an engine paint because of its heat resistance.
step1 remove clipper face plate
step2 remove clipper cord, this can be done by removing the thin plate that keeps the cord locked in
step3 remove adjustment pin and power switch
step4 you can now choose to remove the entire motor or proceed to sanding (if you continue without removing the motor you will need to cover the motor accordingly)
step5 sand every area you plan to paint using the 320 grit sandpaper. sand again with the fine grit side of the paper
step6 prime the entire surface and let dry then smooth with wet send or buff what ever texture desired
step7 apply the coats of paint desired and let dry
step8 reassemble and enjoy!
What kind of black paint did you use?
